Skilled workers target for 2008-2009 will be up to 265,000 which means up to 265,000 visas can be issued. As there is a great opportunity for investors to obtain a visa (which is different than the skilled workers program).

In order to proceed for a skilled worker visa and to be eligible for the interview or to immigration to Canada you have to obtain 67 (current pass mark) and up through an assessment test.

What is a visa?

A visa is an entry clearance certificate that is placed in your passport or travel document.

Do I need a visa to study in Canada, U.S.A or U.K?

Some nationals such as EU citizens do not have to have a visa to study in the U.K. However, you will have to satisfy the Immigration Officer on arrival in the U.K that you qualify for entry. If you are in any doubt about your eligibility you are advised to apply for a visa before you travel. Most international students need a student visa to study in Canada, U.K. or U.S.A.

What will I need to make my visa application?

To make your visa application you will need:
· a completed Application form the Embassy.
· your valid passport or travel document.
· any relevant diplomas or educational certificates which you hold.
· a letter from the university, college or school confirming your acceptance on a course of study in Canada, U.S.A or U.K  and a statement of charges for the course.
· evidence of funds, for example bank statements or pay slips, to show that you can pay for your stay and your course of studies in Canada, U.K or U.S.A.




Can I extend my stay as a student?

If you enter Canada, U.S.A or U.K with a student visa and wish to extend your stay for further studies you can apply to do so at the Home Office Immigration.

Can I bring my husband or wife and children with me?

Your husband or wife and any of your children under age of 18 can come to the U.K with you during your studies as long as you can support and accommodate them without help from public funds.

 

Health insurance?

 

You are strongly recommended to have a proper health insurance in the country you are planning to travel to.
